Apples are abundant in Fall, and there are loads of ways to enjoy them…in breakfasts, smoothies, soups, salads and more!  They’re a nutrient powerhouse and their fiber can help with weight loss.  Apples contain vitamin C, vitamin A and folate.  They’re also rich in cancer-fighting and anti-aging antioxidants.  Apples are full of fiber which aids in heart health, digestive healthy, satiety and weight loss.  The soluble fiber in the white inner part of the apple prevents cholesterol plaques from building up on the walls of the blood vessels, thus reducing your risk of heart disease.  The insoluble fiber in the apple peel aids in digestion.  Best of all, apples are tasty and can be a great dessert substitute.

While Fall is the time when North American trees bear their fruits, you can love apples year-round as well… they’re one of the few fruits you can ALWAYS find on store shelves.  The tasty smoothie, breakfast, soup, salad and protein bar recipes below are some creative ways to incorporate the apple in to your diet every day!
