He currently works with 3 townships – and is a strength and wellness consultant for one of the largest Ford dealerships in the country.
Tony Blauer – You Are a Human Weapon | 3:00 – 4:30
You are a human weapon (whether you know it or not). Your body already knows how to protect itself. Learning how to unlock its hidden capabilities is the key. World renowned self defense expert and the inspiration behind the SPEAR System is going to show you how to use your physicality for self protection. The principles of Tony’s methods are applicable to all regardless of size, experience or athleticism as they are rooted in the basic neurobiology of survival, human biomechanics, and psychology. Because this system is based on real science, it is the most natural way to defend yourself and is readily learned. At the end of the day, though your muscles may look good and be strong – could they perform when you need them the most? Or as Tony says “Who cares how much you can deadlift – if you’re dead?”
Speaker Bio – Coach Tony Blauer has been in the martial art, self-defense, defensive tactics, and combatives industry for over four decades. He founded Blauer Tactical Systems (BTS) in 1985 and it has grown into one of the world’s leading consulting companies specializing in the research and development of performance psychology, personal safety, and close quarter tactics & scenario-based training for law enforcement, military, and professional self-defense instructors. His development of the world’s first impact-reduction training equipment, called High Gear, revolutionized force-on-force training for police, SWAT, and military organizations. Basically, Tony is a certified badass, and since he won’t tell you, we will!

Effort is Everything: The Truth Behind Making Your Workouts Actually Work – Jeff Cavaliere | 4:00-5:00
It seems everywhere you turn, fitness experts are telling you that the key to building muscle is volume. Throw in the latest obsession with terms like “RPE” and “RIR” as guiding principles of determining the intensity of your workout (regardless of whether you’re training for strength or hypertrophy) and you might be led to believe that the numbers and math are the main determinants of an effective workout. In reality, when it comes to building muscle, if you’re not focusing on effort above everything else – you’re missing out on the lion’s share of potential gains. Coach Cavaliere will explain the relationship of effort and volume, why the pendulum needs to dramatically shift away from volume towards effort and how this ratio needs to adapt to allow for longevity in your lifetime of lifting.
Speaker Bio – Jeff Cavaliere MSPT, CSCS served as both the Head Physical Therapist and Assistant Strength Coach for the New York Mets, serving some of the game’s most accomplished players including future hall of fame pitchers Tom Glavine and Pedro Martinez, and perennial all-stars Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, David Wright, and Jose Reyes.
