Max results

Couldn’t be happier with the results of Max Shred. I’ve added 10 lbs of muscle on this program. My wife has noticed a tremendous improvement with my physique.i especially enjoyed the variety every 4 weeks.

Very good program

Max size

I bought max size after working out with my brother-in-law and falling in love with high rep sets. First month was sets of 50-100 and it was awesome, pump and gains were intense. Love it was an understatement, switched everything up from what I was used to.

Solid gains in mass

Overall the program produced strong gains in lean mass and strength. I would have liked the German Volume training to continue for two months with variation. The 2nd and third month were just the right amount of time. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to pack o n lean muscle and to increase their bench, squat and deadlift.

Increased strength

Jeff’s program, max size, has increased my strength, drastically.! The method works, the sets of concentric and eccentric in the final block were brutal, but so necessary to break through plateaus!! Incredible program!

Great programme to continue my AX journey

Having done AX-1 first, and now just finished Old School Iron (an immensely impressive 4-month programme btw, highly recommended), I wanted a new challenge which was going to enable me to continue to improve both upon my muscle and strength gain targets; I looked through the AX portal to find something which might fit the bill and this one just leapt out at me. I’ve been training for years; Crossfit, Beachbody, bodybuilding, etc. but AX is the first series of programmes where it’s felt that I was working towards a purpose and within a properly structured regime. I’m not far into Inferno Size yet, but already I’m impressed with what I’ve seen and I have no doubt that it will help me to achieve what I’ve set out to. Jeff is an awesome coach and has been my #1 source of fitness truth for years now; I love the AX programmes and people at my gym have started to ask what training programme I follow – because they’ve seen the results I’ve achieved over the past few months.

Built muscle for a hard gainer

First weight lifting program I’ve followed consistently, and the first time I’ve consistently lifted weights for a year. I did this program several times over a year. This program put on muscle I’ve never had before. Interestingly, I didn’t put any extra pounds on the scale, but I can see the difference. I must have lost some fat. I did not follow the meal plan.

Very good strength and hypertrophy program

Different phases have different exercises so you do not get bored. Works well for hypertrophy and general conditioning. Overall, very pleased with the program as with all Athlean X products.

Max size review

I’ve really enjoyed this program. I’m On my last week now and plan to start on total beast II NEXT. It fits my work schedule and the full body split makes it easier for me to hit all muscle groups. The meal plan is also a big help The snacks make it a quick go to stop you can have something to eat with a busy schedule. The videos help to show proper form and guide me through the workouts. Most of the workouts I have been able to do at home. So if you have minimum equipment there’s no need for a gym membership.There are many helpful hints about recovery and stretches to help me on my rest days so I can make it through the day and the next scheduled workout.

I've never trained like this before !

The program was great overall, with new techniques I’ve never seen before. I learned how to truly train hard without risking injury which is what I needed as a hard gainer. I gained 5 kgs of muscle after finishing this program, and I could’ve gained more If I paid attention to my diet, but overall it was a great experience. However the value of a review would be in the negative points. For me personally some of the workouts were too long, clocking in at 2.5 – 3 hours (I was doing core4Abs along with it as well), also it would’ve been great if the program had more emphasis on calves as well. Overall Iam very satisfied with AthleanX and will continue my fitness journey through it.

FAQ'S

The program average 5 days per week with each workout clocking in between 10 minutes (for some intense conditioning work) to about 60 minutes (depending on your ability to withstand the finishers!)

Both Max/Shred and Max/Size will require equipment.  While there is a great deal of bodyweight training programmed, you will need the basics for a home gym such as some dumbbells, an adjustable bench, resistance band, pullup bar, and a barbell to complete the exercises as they are programmed.

That said, as with AX-1, exercise swaps can be made to overcome the lack of a barbell with dumbbell adaptations coming in as suitable replacements.

The Max/Size program is not designed to be fit into the existing AX-1 schedule or any other A-X workout, as it is a stand alone program with the perfect amount of volume included to achieve the goal of maximum fat loss without loss of strength or size.

Absolutely!

There has been a dramatic shift in recent years towards heavier training being advocated for women. This is great! That said, in a rush to do so, poor programming has resulted in many women getting hurt and injured from the improper guidance on how to do that. Max/Size provides you with the safest, most structured approach to lifting heavier so you can add lean toned muscle without sacrificing femininity. The program can also be used in succession with Max/Shred to reap the benefits of both maximum fat loss and lean muscle development should you choose to do so.

The Max/Size and Max/Shred programs are not designed to be performed at the same time, as they are stand alone 12 week programs, allowing you to focus your effort on one goal at a time. That said, they were designed to build off of each other and work perfectly when done in succession!

Whether you want to focus on fat loss or lean muscle gain first, the other program will smoothly pick up where one leaves off allowing you to create your own physique over 24 weeks!

Max/Size is designed to do one thing better than any other program, build muscle.

That said, with it's strategies rooted in the science of muscle growth and ensuring the intensity in every workout is high enough to create it…Max/Size can help even the hardest of hard gainers to put on muscle. The importance of recovery is key, and often overlooked by those eager to pack on the gains. Not in Max/Size.

That is a term that is often relied on to place an artificial limit on what you can achieve with your physique. Most of the time, even the most seasoned of lifters find that they have another level of intensity that they simply have not tapped into (because it’s damn hard!).
